Murphy Corridor Improvements Project Update – May 24, 2021
Thank you for your interest in the Murphy Corridor Improvements Project.
The modernization work of Murphy Road between Country Club Drive and Parrell Road is three months ahead of schedule and set to open the evening of Friday, May 28. All closures are expected to be removed at that time, and both westbound and eastbound travel lanes will open to vehicular traffic. Intermittent flagging (however, no lane closures) should be expected as landscape work continues into June.
Thanks to all who helped make this a successful phase of the Murphy project and those impacted by traffic detours and construction over the past several months.
Construction Activities – Week of May 24
- Crews will complete the paving and striping of Murphy Road. One-way traffic will be maintained, east to west, on Murphy Road from Country Club Drive. - The south half of Murphy Road
- Side streets and driveways
- Final lift paving and striping north, south, then side streets
- Landscape and irrigation work will continue.
- Crews will continue backfilling sidewalks and curbs.
- Preparation work continues in advance of erecting girders for the BNSF Railway bridge overcrossing in June.
