Murphy Corridor Improvements Project Update – December 17, 2020
Thank you for your interest in the Murphy Corridor Improvements Project. The next phase of the project, modernization between Country Club Drive and Parrell Road, is currently underway. Improvements include constructing a three-lane roadway with a left turn lane, a protected pedestrian crossing, shared-use paths, bike lanes, sidewalks, street lighting, and landscaping improvements are planned on Murphy Road between Country Club Drive and Parrell Road.
Construction activities for the Week of December 21, 2020
- Continued installation of streetlights at Country Club Drive
- Sidewalks will be poured at the new Country Club Drive roundabout
- Curbs and sidewalks will continue to be backfilled
- Continued installation of dry wells at Mel Court
- Construction of the retaining wall will continue
- Demolition work will continue between Country Club Drive and Benham Road
The Murphy Road/Country Club Drive roundabout is open – except the west leg, which stays closed to allow roadway modernization work between Country Club and Parrell Road. Travelers should expect delays and are advised to follow detours. Local access to residences and emergency traffic will be maintained at all times. Please be cautious and obey traffic control devices, flaggers, road closures, and detours.

Detours
Westbound Detour: Take Murphy Road to Country Club Drive. Turn right on Knott Road. Turn right on China Hat Road. Turn right on Parrell Road.
Eastbound Detour: Take Murphy Road to Parrell Road. Continue on Parrell Road, turn right on Brosterhous Road, and follow to stop sign. Turn right on Brosterhous Road and follow through Brosterhous Roundabout to Murphy Road.
