Empire Corridor Improvements Project Weekly Update – August 13, 2020

Be aware of recent temporary traffic control changes. The 27th Street & Butler Market Road roundabout is now partially open in the north and south directions. Please use caution and drive slowly as not all traffic lanes are currently open, and construction is on-going.

  • Please stay out of work zones and away from construction equipment. Excavated areas are considered unsafe for yourself, children, and pets.
  • Walk and bicycle in designated areas only. 
  • Access to the construction area is limited to construction workers.
  • Do not remove barriers or warning signs/warning tape or fencing. 
  • Do not drive over construction cones or barriers.
  • Construction is dependent on weather conditions and other factors.

Butler Market Road & Deschutes Market Road roundabout to open in early September

  • The opening of the eastern Butler Market approach will coincide with the completion of the Butler Market Road & Deschutes Market Road roundabout in late August. 
    • A full closure of the intersection at Eagle Road and Butler Market Road will occur when the Butler Market & Deschutes Market roundabout opens.
      • The Eagle Road & Butler Market Road roundabout is scheduled to open late September.
      • The east leg of Butler Market Road and Deschutes Market Road will open in late September.
  • The full-opening of the new roundabout at 27th Street and Butler Market Road will occur in late September or early October.
