The Empire Avenue Extension is Planned to be Complete in Mid-August
This extension begins at the east side of the newly completed roundabout at Empire Avenue and Purcell Boulevard and continues southeast to the intersection of 27th Street and Butler Market Road. In mid-August, the new roundabout at 27th Street Butler Market Road will be partially open to traffic only in the northbound and southbound directions only. The opening of the eastern Butler Market approach will coincide with the Butler Market Road/Deschutes Market Road roundabout completion in late August. The full opening of the new roundabout will occur in late September or early October.
- Please stay out of work zones and away from construction equipment. The excavated area is considered unsafe for yourself, children, and pets.
- Walk and bicycle in designated areas only. Sidewalks and paths along the Empire Extension remain closed. Please remain on Bend Parks and Recreation’s paths and the paths along the NUID canal. All other areas are off-limits for the time being.
- Access to the construction area is limited to construction workers.
- Do not remove barriers or warning signs/warning tape or fencing.
- Construction is dependent on weather conditions and other factors.
