Empire Corridor Improvements Project Weekly Update – March 19, 2020
Project Overview
Empire Corridor Improvements is a priority project that greatly improves safety, transportation options, access, and east-west connections for the neighborhood and the traveling public.
In the current phase of this project, Empire Ave is being extended from Purcell Blvd to the intersection of 27th St and Butler Market Rd, with a new two-lane roundabout. The Empire extension and new roundabout are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2020. Improvements planned to be finished in 2021 include rebuilding Purcell Blvd between Empire and Butler Market Rd, along with roundabout improvements at the Purcell/Butler Market intersection.

Road Closures
Purcell Bridge Closure Continues February 17-April 30.
Butler Market Road Closures:
- Deschutes Market Rd to Eagle Rd April 1 to May 1
- Expect delays, closures, and detours through Fall 2020 while new roadway and roundabouts are built between 27th St and Eagle Rd.
- There will also be detours near the new Petrosa Community in this area of Northeast Bend. Detours will be shown at www.bendoregon.gov/empire
