Project Update December 4, 2019

As part of the Murphy Corridor Improvements Project, segments of Murphy Road will be under construction beginning in mid-February 2020 at Brosterhous Road. Construction will continue west to Country Club Drive throughout the spring and summer months. The improvements will include modernization of the existing corridor and a roundabout Brosterhous Road/Murphy Road intersection.

The City will host an open house prior to the construction of the Brosterhous Road roundabout on Wednesday, February 5, 2020. During the open house, the project team will share project staging, traffic impacts and detours, construction timeline, and activities.

Upcoming activities:

• Expect to see crews working in the Brosterhous Road and Murphy Road areas in early December as we begin preparing for the next phase of construction. Motorists should anticipate intermittent flagging Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
• Motorists can expect intermittent flagging on December 15^th at the 15^th Street roundabout while crews place rock mulch in the roundabout. The work will take place between 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• Brosterhous Road Roundabout Preconstruction Open House
  Wednesday, February 5, 2020, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at R. E. Jewell Elementary School, 20550 Murphy Rd, Bend, 97702
• The design team is progressing on the design and alternatives analysis for the BNSF bridge overcrossing.

• Over the next several months, the City will be meeting with property owners adjacent to the Murphy Corridor to discuss the project details and potential impacts on individual properties during construction.
