Weekly Construction Update Week of October 14th

Spotlight on Sheila Hart

This week we are spotlighting the “always smiling” Sheila Hart. You might recognize Sheila as one of the 15th Street traffic control flaggers. The project team has received dozens of comments from community members acknowledging Sheila’s friendliness and ever-present smile.

Sheila shared, “I love working for K&E Excavation and so happy we get to do all of these super great projects for the City of Bend. The people here are so nice and friendly!”

Construction activities for the upcoming week include:

  • Roundabout landscaping and irrigation begin this week.
  • Stage II work on the 15th Street and Murphy Road roundabout continues this week with construction of the curb and sidewalks and installation of remaining storm drainage facilities.
  • Roundabout asphalt paving will take place toward the end of the week.
  • Work on the water quality pond is nearing completion. The pond will capture stormwater runoff from streets and sidewalks while mitigating flooding and improving water quality.
