3/26/18 Project Updates

Spring/Summer 2018

Phase I:

• Cascade Natural Gas (CNG) is beginning construction to upgrade their facilities along the section of 14th Street between Newport Ave. and Galveston Ave. Work is anticipated to begin March 26. Southbound traffic along 14^th will be restricted during this approximately 10 week project.

• The City of Bend awarded the construction contract to K&E Excavating, from Salem, OR.   K&E brings a wide range of project experience and has presented the City with an aggressive schedule, anticipating finishing the first 3 phases of the project in advance of the original November completion date.

• The City of Bend awarded the Construction Management/Public Involvement contract to DOWL. A

  project information line has been established for questions and comments. That number is         458-202-7349.

• Construction is scheduled to be initiated April 2 in the Albany Ave. to Simpson Roundabout corridor. Two phases are being combined into one to accelerate the construction schedule. The Simpson Ave. roundabout will now be included in this phase of construction. This phase is to be completed by July 1.

Phase II:

• The design team is working hard towards the completion of 100% design for Phase II in May, 2018.

As construction begins, please be aware of the detours and construction impacts, slowing down in construction zones and being aware of construction workers in the area.
