Councilor Office Hours

March 1, 2016 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

This meeting will be held on the 2nd floor of City Hall, in our Awbrey Butte conference room.

Mayor Clinton and Mayor Pro Tem Russell will be in attendance.

Council office hours are an opportunity to sit down and talk with one or two of your elected leaders in an informal setting. Drop-ins are welcome and there is no agenda for these meetings.

However, sometimes certain active land-use issues require the Council to serve as a quasi-judicial body, which means there will be occasional topics Councilors don’t discuss outside of public hearings when the full body is present and public input is incorporated into the record. Councilors are advised to avoid communicating with anyone who could be involved in the pending quasi-judicial land use proceeding outside of the designated public hearing.

Other ongoing land-use processes that are considered “legislative” instead of “quasi-judicial” are unrestricted. (For example, the Urban Growth Boundary process.) Councilors can converse freely on legislative issues during office hours, but visitors should know that office hours conversations are not part of the public record. Only oral testimony and written comments submitted as part of the specific land-use processes are part of the official record that are used in making land-use decisions.
