Objective: Brainstorm ideas for how the cities in Deschutes County can prepare for mobility in a Smart Cities future.
Expected outcome: Smart Cities framework to guide and identify investments for the future of mobility
Participation: Invited agency and stakeholder staff/representatives will be asked to engage in a brainstorming session to identify common themes and trends that may be considered as key elements of a Smart Cities based future. Members of the public are invited to observe the workshop and provide comments on the process. Note: Public seating availability is limited.

- Evolution of Intelligent Transportation in Deschutes County
- Future of Mobility for the cities in Deschutes County
- The regions Smart/Connected Future:
- Multi-modal and Emerging Mobility
- Data: Big Data, Analytics, Dashboards, Warehouse, Sharing
- Incident Management, Emergency Response, Resiliency
- Connected and Autonomous Vehicles
This is a public meeting and a quorum of the Bend Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Policy Board is expected. No decisions or actions are expected at this meeting. Information and plan details are expected to be relayed. The Deschutes County ITS Plan update is developed by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), the City of Bend, the City of Redmond, Deschutes County, the Bend MPO, Deschutes County 9-1-1 and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The outcome of this plan is a 20-year deployment plan of ITS projects, which includes advanced technologies and management techniques, aimed to improve the safety and efficiency of the transportation system. This effort is consistent with plans put together in other regions statewide to ensure that ITS strategies used are integrated and complementary.
