Bend Metropolitan Planning Organization Hosting Online Open House for
Transportation Safety Action Plan
The Bend Metropolitan Planning Organization is updating its Transportation
Safety Action Plan (TSAP). This key initiative is focused on reducing serious
injuries and fatalities on Bend area roadways.
As part of the update, the most recent crash data will be analyzed across the
Bend area to better understand where and why traffic-related serious injuries
and fatalities are occurring. The findings will be used to identify priority
locations as well as the types of transportation projects and programs that
can most effectively improve safety for all roadway users, including people
walking, biking, driving and taking transit.
Public input is a critical component of the Transportation Safety Action Plan
update. Community members are encouraged to share their transportation safety
concerns and experiences through an online open house, available now through
May 15. The online open house includes a brief survey and an interactive
mapping tool where participants can identify specific locations, describe
safety issues and suggest potential improvements.
Community feedback will help ensure that the updated Transportation Safety
Action Plan reflects local knowledge and lived experiences and supports data-
driven investments that make Bend’s transportation system safer for everyone.
To participate and sign up for project updates, please visit the online
open house.
