BMPO Transportation Project Amendment – Public Comment Period

The Bend Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization (BMPO) Policy Board
will consider approval of one amendment to the 2024-2027 Metropolitan
Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP) at their next scheduled meeting on
June 18th, at 10:00 am.
A 21-day public comment period for the amendment is open through June 16,
2026. Public comments can be submitted via email to
kkennedy@bendoregon.gov
or during Public Comment at the hybrid (in person and online) BMPO Policy
Board meeting. Meeting information will be posted on the BMPO Policy Board
webpage
one week prior
to the meeting date.
Below is a summary of the proposed amendment.

Project Name: US97 Romaine Village Way to Lava Butte

  • Project Number: 23735
  • Summary of Changes: Update project description to reflect additional scope constructing approximately 1.5 miles of multi-use path.
  • Project Description (current): This project will repave US97 between Romaine Village Way south of Bend to Lava Butte. This section of highway is a key route in connecting communities and visitors to the Deschutes National Forest and popular recreation destinations accessed of off US97.
  • Project Description (new): This project will repave US97 between Romaine Village Way south of Bend to Lava Butte and construct a multi-use path parallelling US97 from Knott Road to High Desert Museum.
