Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) Program
The Fats, Oils and Grease Program partners with businesses with grease interceptors in the City of Bend. The goal is to keep our public health, water quality, and public infrastructure safe.
To help prevent harmful discharges like grease and food waste from entering the sewer system, the City of Bend runs the Industrial Pretreatment Program. This program works with businesses to inspect, monitor, and manage grease interceptors so that pollutants don’t damage our wastewater system or create health risks.
As part of the program, businesses are required to follow City-set cleaning schedules and submit their maintenance records online through SwiftComply. These records help ensure that grease is being cleaned out regularly and disposed of properly protecting both public health and our local infrastructure.
The City of Bend Sewer Use Ordinance clearly outlines the basis for the operation of the Fats, Oils and Grease Program.
