The Landmarks Commission is made of seven members with an interest in architecture, history, architectural history, planning, prehistoric and historic archaeology, folklore, cultural anthropology, curation, conservation landscape architecture or other related disciplines. The Commission conducts quasi-judicial public hearings for certain project applications affecting historic resources. Historic resources include sites, districts, or structures.
Landmarks Commissioners are volunteers appointed by the City Council for 4-year terms.
It acts as an advisory board to the City Council on decisions that could affect historic resources, per Bend Code section 1.20.090 Landmarks Commission. Learn more about historic preservation in Bend at this webpage.
