Aune Online Open House – Connect Now!
Project Design Open House #2
In Fall 2025, we hosted an open house to share proposed safety and
connectivity improvements for the southern end of Bend’s Core Area. Feedback
from this public engagement period helped the project team advance the designs
for these streets and intersections.
Connect online for an informational open house, where we’ll share what we
heard from the community and present the selected street designs.
The public comment period is open from now through May 4.

Aune Safety and Connectivity Project
This project area has seen more traffic and new development, while users have
reported it is still hard to travel east to west—whether you’re driving,
walking, or biking.
The Aune Safety and Connectivity Project will improve several intersections
and streets from the Aune Street undercrossing of the Bend Parkway to and
along Third Street up to Burnside Avenue. If approved, these upgrades will:
* Reduce vehicle conflict points
* Enhance accessibility for all users to support east-west connectivity
* Improve key routes for biking and walking
By implementing complete street connections and safety improvements, the
project will make driving safer, walking and biking more comfortable, and
strengthen connections between the Old Mill District and East Bend.
