Weekly Road Report for the Week of September 14 – 18
NE Vail Lane
NE Vail Lane between NE 8th Street and NE 6th Street will have infrastructure installations related to a new subdivision.
Full road closure with local access, September 10 – 25 from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
NE 13th Street and NE Revere Avenue
NE 13th Street and NE Revere Avenue: City Neighborhood Safety Project.
Intermittent lane and intersection closures. Open to local traffic only with a detour in place, September 12 – 18.
NE 10th Street
NE 10th Street between NE 10th and NE Franklin Avenue will have tree trimming.
Intermittent single lane closures with flagging, September 14 – 18 from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
NE 8th Street
NE 8th Street between NE Franklin and NE Greenwood will have tree trimming.
Lane shifts. Two-way travel will be maintained, September 14 – 18 from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
NW Wall Street
NW Wall Street between NW Colorado Avenue and NW Arizona Avenue will have water service installations.
Single lane closure with lane shift, September 14 – 18 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
NW Colorado Avenue
NW Colorado Avenue between NW Bond Street and NW Wall Street will have paving.
Single lane closures, September 17 from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
NE Neff Road / NE Penn Avenue
NE Neff Road / NE Penn Avenue between NE Parkridge Drive and NE 9th Street will have franchise utility aerial installations.
Lane shifts and single lane closures with flagging, September 14 – 18 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Nels Anderson Road
Nels Anderson Road between Empire Avenue and N Highway 97 will have utility installations.
Southbound lane closure with detour, September 11 – 18.
NE Division Street
NE Division Street between Highway 20 and NW Lakeside Place will have NUID canal restoration.
Southbound lane closure with detour, August 31 – October 2.
Cooley Road and Ranch Village Drive
The City of Bend is constructing a new gravity sewer main along Cooley Road and Ranch Village Drive. This new line will connect to existing infrastructure west of the Cooley Road and 18th Street intersection, optimizing the community sewer system.
Various road impacts will be required for the project, including:
- Cooley Road (Ranch Village Drive to the 18th Street/Cooley Road roundabout)
One lane will be closed, with two-way traffic maintained through flagging, July 13 – Fall 2026 - Ranch Village Drive (Double Peaks Drive to Cooley Road)
Closed to through traffic; local access only, Early August – End of October
Franklin Avenue Improvements Project
This initial work is focused on replacing aging water pipes from 1st Street to 4th Street.
Franklin Undercrossing Closure Begins September 14
Monday, September 14 – Franklin Avenue undercrossing from Harriman Street to First Street will close to vehicles until the end of May, temporarily reopening from Thanksgiving Day through New Year’s Day. This temporary closure will allow crews to continue construction of stormwater and transportation improvements, as well as new retaining walls at the undercrossing.
Detour routes include Third Street, Greenwood Avenue, and Wall and Bond streets. Olney Avenue and Colorado Avenue will also be fully accessible during the undercrossing closure.
Two-way traffic will resume on Franklin Avenue between First and Fourth streets before September 14.
NE 2nd Street
Water Main Replacement Project – Aging water main will be repaired and replaced along NE 2nd Street.
Construction continues with Phase 2 work. Affected sections of NE 2nd Street are listed below:
- Phase 2: 2nd Street from Norton to Lafayette began work on July 29.
- Phase 1 will still have restricted access with the current work area acting as a staging area.
- 2nd Street will be closed to through traffic from NE Olney Avenue to NE Lafayette Avenue, with single-lane guided access for local traffic through construction extents.
Intersection of SE 15th Street and Ferguson Road
Intersection of SE 15th Street and Ferguson Road will have roundabout construction.
Full intersection closure with detour, June 22 – Fall 2026
Bend Bikeway Project (SE Area)
The Bend Bikeway Project provides safer connections for pedestrians and bicyclists traveling between neighborhoods, schools, places of work, parks, and trails across town.
Improvements include a new shared-use path, with work primarily occurring along road shoulders and intermittent single-lane closures with flagging.
June 24 – Fall 2026 Streets affected:
- SE 9th Street between SE Wilson Avenue and SE Reed Market Road.
- SE 15th Street between Larkspur Park and Bronzewood Avenue.
- NE Bear Creek Road between NE Alpenview Lane and SE Craven Road.
NW Crossing Farmers Market (Special Event)
Special event occurring every Saturday, May 30 – September 26. Multiple road closures related to the event:
- NW Crossing Drive between Mount Washington Drive and the NW Crossing Drive circle.
- NW John Fremont Street between NW Ordway Avenue and NW Fort Clatsop Street.
- NW Fort Clatsop Street between NW Ordway Avenue and NW John Fremont Street.
Windsor Drive
Windsor Drive between Brosterhous Road and Woodside Court for a sewer main installation as part of the City Septic to Sewer Program.
Full road closure with local access only, April 27 – Early October
King Hezekiah and Fargo Sewer Project
Various road closures will be required for the installation of new sewer mains.
- SE King Hezekiah Way between SE 15th Street and King Jehu, June 15 – End of October
Highway 20
ODOT ADA Ramp Installations – Various ADA ramps along Highway 20 will be replaced during overnight work from 8:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. with minimal delays.
Work will occur through October 2026.
Intersections affected:
- Powers Road
- Butler Market Road
- Purcell Boulevard
- 27th Street
Upcoming Roadway Impacts
Bend Fall Festival (Special Event)
This special event takes place Friday, October 2 through Sunday, October 4 at 5:00 p.m.
Various road closures in Downtown Bend:
- Wall Street between Franklin Avenue and Greenwood Avenue.
- Oregon Avenue between Brooks Street and Lava Road.
- Minnesota Avenue between Wall Street and Lava Road.
Bend Fall Foot Races (Special Event)
This special event includes a half marathon. The event will primarily use City sidewalks and BPRD trails, crossing a few major streets with the use of certified flaggers.
Event takes place October 4 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- NW Galveston Avenue between NW Harmon Boulevard and NW Riverfront Street.
- NW Portland Avenue between NW Wall Street and NW Steidl Road.
Work schedules are dependent on weather conditions and other factors. Always exercise increased caution within construction zones. Drivers should use designated detour routes. Nearby residential streets are for local traffic only.
Any road closure not listed in this report should be reported to the City as potentially unpermitted work within the public right-of-way. Visit the Transportation & Mobility Department to submit a service request.
