Reed Market Road Design Workshops Draw Public Interest and Ideas
On August 2, 2012, the City of Bend held two public workshops to receive community input on the design of the Reed Market Road corridor from 3rd St. to 27th St. Both workshops took place in the Bend Police Department Municipal Courtroom, drawing over 100 participants to the daytime and evening meetings. Based on community input and ideas received at these meetings, the project team is currently working to update the project designs, which are nearing the 60% milestone.
A follow up public meeting will be held in November to review the refined roadway designs.
The total project budget for Reed Market Road is $18.3 million with construction set to begin in summer 2013. Funding is provided by the 2011 voter-approved Transportation Bond program. Three roundabouts that are also part of the bond program currently are under construction.
