Jefferson Place Water Line Replacement
PROJECT UPDATE JUNE 18, 2026
Water line work continues in the alley between Jefferson Place and Shasta Place, with crews progressing north from the south end. Crews expect to complete the new water main and service connections in the alley around June 26, 2026. After installation, the new line will be chlorinated, tested and flushed before homes are connected.
Connections from the temporary system to the new water main are expected to begin around June 29, 2026. Short water service interruptions are expected during this work. The contractor will provide at least 48 hours’ notice in advance of any interruptions.
Following completion of underground work, the alley will be paved starting around July 2, 2026, limiting parking and driveway access. Additional notice will be provided ahead of paving. A new concrete apron will also be installed at the alley entrance.
After alley work is complete, construction will move to Delaware Avenue beginning at the intersection with Broadway Avenue and progressing west to Adams Place. Local access will be maintained during this phase. Work on this phrase is expected to begin the week of July 6, 2026 and will take about a month.
The Jefferson Place Water Line Replacement Project will replace and upgrade aging and undersized water lines that are in need of repair to serve this area now and into the future. These water lines are generally undersized for the growing area and need to be brought to current standards. The project will:
- Replace old water lines before they fail
- Upgrade pipes to meet current standards
- Ensure reliable water service for decades
Location
Work will occur along NW Delaware Avenue between NW Shasta Place and NW Broadway Street, along Adams Place south of Delaware and down the alley between Shasta Place and Jefferson Place.

What to Expect During Construction
Rolling closures are expected throughout the construction period. During daytime hours, construction activity may temporarily limit access on nearby roads and alleys.
Funding
This project is funded by water utility rates under the Water Capital Repair and Replacement Program.
