Night Work on Franklin Avenue

Begins Monday, May 18

The first phase of the Franklin Avenue Improvements will begin May 18 with
night work to minimize traffic impacts.

LOCATION

Franklin Avenue between First Street and Fourth Street.

WORK HOURS

Night work will take place from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING PHASE 1

  • Lane closures and occasional flagging with delays
  • Traffic will be open in both directions
  • Normal traffic flow during the day
  • Allow extra travel time when you’re traveling through the area
  • For your safety, please stay out of the construction areas
  • Access to businesses will remain open throughout construction
  • Emergency response access will be maintained at all times
    Phase 1 work is expected to continue through June and will replace aging water
    pipes. The following phases of work will take place over the next year and a

Midtown Crossings Project

The Midtown Crossings Project is improving east-west travel between downtown
and the Central District and includes improvements to four key connections in
the area: Greenwood Avenue, Hawthorne Avenue, Franklin Avenue and Second
Street.
