Weekly Road Report for the Week of May 25-31

NW Crossing Farmers Market (special event)

Special event occurring every Saturday May 30 – September 26. Multiple road closures related to event (listed below).

  • NW Crossing Drive between Mount Washington Drive and NW Crossing Drive (Circle).
  • NW John Freemont between NW Ordiway Avenue and NW Fort Clatsop Street.
  • NW Fort Clatsop Street between NW Ordway Avenue and NW John Freemont Street.

Bend Summer Festival (special event)

Event taking place Friday, May 29 through Sunday, May 31 at 5 p.m. Various Road closures in Downtown Bend:

  • Oregon Avenue and Minnesota Avenue between Wall Street and Lava Road.
  • Bond Street between Franklin Avenue and Greenwood Avenue.

American Lane

Between Kira Drive and Brosterhous Road for water service removals, single lane closure with lane shift, May 26 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Intersection of NE Butler Market Road and Hamehook Road

Road work, 3-way flagging of the intersection, May 26 – 28 from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Franklin Avenue

Improvements City Project – This initial work is focused on replacing aging water pipes from First Street to Fourth Street. Work will be completed at night to minimize traffic impacts.

  • Work scheduled from May 18 – end of June, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

NE Lytle Street

Between NE Revere Avenue and NE Quimby Avenue for a water main replacement, full road closure with limited access, May 15 – June 15, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

NW Bond Street

Between NW Wall Street and NW Greenwood Avenue for work related to the Deschutes County Courthouse, single lane closure with lane shift, May 20 – 26 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

SE Wilson Avenue

Between SE Centennial St and SE 9th St for rail, roadway, and sidewalk infrastructure installation, full road closure with detour. Estimated closure from April 27th to Early July. We will provide updated dates when BNSF (the rail company) gets the city the schedule.

Windsor Drive

Between Brosterhous Road and Woodside Court for a sewer main installation (part of City Septic to Sewer Program), full road closure with local access only, April 27 – End of August.

SW Colorado Avenue

Between NW Bond Street and NW Staats Street for utility work, single lane closure with lane shift, April 20 – May 29, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Fargo Lane

Between Perrigan Drive and Orion Drive for sewer installation work for the City’s King Hezekiah and Fargo Sewer Project.

  • Fargo Lane between Perrigan Drive and Orion Drive will be closed with local and emergency access only, April 3 – June 30.

NE Purcell Boulevard

Between US 20 and Bear Creek Road for infrastructure installations, full road closure with detour, March 30 – May 29.

  • Beginning June 1, Bear Creek Road will be closed between NE Purcell Boulevard and Dean Swift Road.

Intersection of SW Atwood Drive and Ponderosa Street

Stormwater and water main infrastructure work, full closure of the intersection with detour, Feb. 23 – end of May.

  • Beginning June 5, closure will be modified to close Ponderosa Street between SW Atwood Ave and Granite Drive.

Ponderosa Street

Intersection with SW Atwood Drive will have stormwater and water infrastructure installation, full road closure with detour, February 23 – May 29.

Ferguson Road

Between Magnolia Drive and 27th Street will have infrastructure upgrades, single lane closure with eastbound traffic only, Feb. 2 – May 29.

Magnolia Lane

Between Hearthstone Lane and Ferguson Road will have infrastructure improvements, full road closure with local access only, Oct. 6, 2025 – May 29.

Butler Market Corridor Improvements

This project will construct a new single lane roundabout at the intersection of Butler Market Road and Wells Acres Road, and pedestrian and bicycle improvements on Butler Market Road between the Eighth Street roundabout to Brinson Boulevard. Construction is well underway and is expected to be completed in fall of 2026. Roadway impacts listed below. For more information visit Butler Market & Wells Acres Roundabout and Key Route Project.

  • Note: Butler Market Road between NE Brinson Boulevard and NE Eighth Street will have a westbound lane closure with detour.
  • Butler Market Road is open to eastbound traffic only between Broken Bow Drive and Brinson Boulevard.Beginning May 11, Wells Acres Road will be closed at the intersection with Butler Market Road for 95 days. (Butler Market remains open to eastbound traffic.) Use Purcell Boulevard as an alternate route.

NW Harriman Street

Between NW Kearney Avenue and NW Greenwood Avenue for infrastructure work associated with the Deschutes County Courthouse, full road closure through June 26.

NW Pakenham Street

Between NE Forum Drive and NE Jackdaw Drive for infrastructure improvements, full road closure, occurring until May 29.

Bend Handmade Market (special event)

Event taking place Saturday, June 6, from 6 a.m. – 5 p.m. Various Road closures in Downtown Bend:

  • Oregon Avenue and Minnesota Avenue between Wall Street and Lava Road.
  • Bond Street between Franklin Avenue and Greenwood Avenue.

NW Lafayette Avenue

Between NW Harriman Street and NW Wall Street for a sewer service removal, single lane closure with flagging, June 3 – 5 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.


Work schedules are dependent on weather conditions and other factors. Always exercise increased caution within construction zones. Drivers should use designated detour routes. Nearby residential streets are for local traffic only.

Any road closure not listed within this report, please submit a service request to notify the city of any potentially unpermitted work within City right of way. Please visit the Transportation and Mobility Department to submit.
