Weekly Road Report for the Week of June 29 – July 5

Fourth of July Pet Parade (Special Event)

Parade will have various road closures in and around downtown on July 4:

• NW Wall Street between NW Newport Avenue and NW Franklin Ave
• NW Riverside Boulevard between NW Wall Street and NW Galveston Avenue
• NW Galveston Avenue between NW Tumalo Avenue and NW Harmon Boulevard
• NW Harmon Boulevard between NW Galveston Avenue and NW Newport Avenue
• NW Newport Avenue between NW Harmon Boulevard and NW Wall Street

NE Neff Road

NE Neff Road between Eagle Road and NE Providence Drive for frontage improvements.

Single lane closure with flagging, June 29 – July 2, 9 AM – 3:30 PM

Intersection of SE 15th Street and Ferguson Road

Intersection of SE 15th Street and Ferguson Road will have roundabout construction.

Full intersection closure with detour, June 22 – Fall 2026

Criterion Race Series (Special Event)

This special event is a five-week race event occurring every Wednesday from June 24 – July 22. The event will close a few NW City streets (listed below). A detour will be in place for the event.

• NW Crossing Drive between NW Elwood Lane and NW Skyline Ranch Road
• NW Elwood Lane between NW Crossing Drive and NW Lolo Drive
• NW Lolo Drive between NW Elwood Lane and NW Skyline Ranch Road
• NW Skyline Ranch Road between NW Lolo Drive and NW Crossing Drive

Bend Bikeways Project, SE Area

The Bend Bikeway Project provides safer connections for pedestrians and bicycles traveling between neighborhoods, schools, places of work, parks and trails across town. Improvements will include a new shared use path with work primarily occurring as shoulder work, with intermittent single lane closures and flagging.

Work begins June 24 – Fall 2026. Streets affected:

• SE 9th Street between SE WIlson Avenue and SE Reed Market Road
• SE 15th Street between the Larkspur park and Bronzewood Ave
• NE Bear Creek Road between NE Alpenview Lane and SE Craven Road

NE 18th Street

NE 18th Street at the intersection with the Yeoman Road extension will have roadway and pedestrian improvements.

Northbound Lane closure with detour (southbound accessible), June 15 – July 30

NW Crossing Farmers Market (Special Event)

Special event occurring every Saturday, May 30 – September 26. Multiple road closures related to event:

• NW Crossing Drive between Mount Washington Drive and NW Crossing Drive (Circle)
• NW John Freemont Street between NW Ordiway Avenue and NW Fort Clatsop Street
• NW Fort Clatsop Street between NW Ordway Avenue and NW John Freemont Street

Windsor Drive

Windsor Drive between Brosterhous Road and Woodside Court for a sewer main installation (part of City Septic to Sewer Program).

Full road closure with local access only, April 27 – End of August

SW Colorado Avenue

SW Colorado Avenue between NW Bond Street and NW Staats Street for utility work.

Single lane closure with lane shift, April 20 – July 3, 9 AM – 3:30 PM

King Hezekiah and Fargo Sewer Project

Various Road closures will be required for the installation of new sewer mains. Road closures listed below:

• Fargo Lane between Perrigan Drive and Orion Drive, including intersection of Perrigan Drive and Fargo Lane, will be closed with local and emergency access only, April 3 – June 30
• SE King Hezekiah Way between SE 15th Street and King Jehu, June 15 – End of October

NE Bear Creek Road

NE Bear Creek Road between NE Purcell Boulevard and Dean Swift Road will have infrastructure installations.

Full road closure with detour, June 8 – July 10

Ponderosa Street

Ponderosa Street between SW Atwood Ave and Granite Drive will have roadway construction.

Full road closure with detour, June 5 – July 28

Magnolia Lane

Magnolia Lane between Hearthstone Lane and Ferguson Road will have infrastructure improvements.

Full road closure with local access only until August 15

Butler Market Corridor Improvements

This project will construct a new single lane roundabout at the intersection of Butler Market and Wells Acres Road, and pedestrian and bicycle improvements on Butler Market between the 8th Street roundabout to Brinson Blvd.

Roadway impacts:

• Butler Market Road between NE Brinson Boulevard and NE 8th Street will have a westbound lane closure with detour.
• Note: Butler Market Road is open to eastbound traffic only between Broken Bow Drive and Brinson Blvd.
• Beginning May 11th, Wells Acres will be closed at the intersection with Butler Market until August. (Butler Market remains open to eastbound traffic.) Use Purcell Blvd as an alternate route.
• Shepard Road will have intermittent closures at the intersection with Wells Acres. Detour signage direct traffic to NE Canyon Park Drive.

Construction is well underway and is expected to be completed in fall of 2026.

NW Harriman Street

NW Harriman Street between NW Kearney Avenue and NW Greenwood Avenue for infrastructure work associated with the Deschutes County Courthouse.

Full road closure through July 10

Upcoming Road Closures:

2026 Street Preservation

Various Streets across the City will have this work occurring with lane & street closures during its duration (expect delays). Final street paving and striping to occur from July 13 – 24.

• Robal Road between Highway 20 and N Business 97, occurring as night work on July 14 – 15
• NW Stannium Road between Sunset View Park and NW Milwaukee Avenue, July 13

Franklin Avenue Improvements Project

This initial work is focused on replacing aging water pipes from 1st Street to 4th Street, begins July 6th. Street impacts:

• Daytime work with lane reductions and flagging required to maintain traffic through the corridor, alternate routes should be taken to avoid delays
• Temporary westbound closure of Franklin Avenue between 3rd Street and 4th Street begins July 6, detour provided

NE Olney Avenue

NE Olney Avenue at the intersection with NE 6th Street will have light pole installation.

Westbound lane closure with detour, July 6 – 7 from 7 PM – 6 AM

SE 15th Street

SE 15th Street between Bear Creek and Wilson Ave for a franchise utility work.

Single lane closures with flagging, July 8 from 8 PM – 6 AM

Bend Dirt Fest (Special Event)

The course will traverse various City streets and include a few temporary stops with flaggers. Expect delays on SW Reed Market Road between SW Century Drive and SW Mt Bachelor Drive and Century Drive, south of SW Reed Market Road.

The special event will take place July 11, between 6 AM – 4 PM.

Work schedules are dependent on weather conditions and other factors. Always exercise increased caution within construction zones. Drivers should use designated detour routes. Nearby residential streets are for local traffic only.

Any road closure not listed within this report, please submit a service request to notify the city of any potentially unpermitted work within City right of way. Please visit the Transportation and Mobility Department to submit.
