NW Newport Avenue

NW Newport Avenue between NW 6th Street and NW 3rd Street for utility work, lane shift with brief flagging for work crossing NW Newport Avenue, June 22 – June 26.

Intersection of SE 15th Street and Ferguson Road

Intersection of SE 15th Street and Ferguson Road will have roundabout construction, full intersection closure with detour, begins June 22.

Criterion Race Series (special event)

This special event is a five-week race event occurring every Wednesday from June 24 – July 22. The event will close a few NW City streets (listed below). A detour will be in place for the event.

  • NW Crossing Drive between NW Elwood Lane and NW Skyline Ranch Road
  • NW Elwood Lane between NW Crossing Drive and NW Lolo Drive
  • NW Lolo Drive between NW Elwood Lane and NW Skyline Ranch Road
  • NW Skyline Ranch Road between NW Lolo Drive and NW Crossing Drive

Bend Central District Festival (special event)

Event taking place June 27th from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Various road closures within the Central District listed below:

  • NE 2nd Street between NE Greenwood Avenue and NE Norton Avenue
  • NE Lafayette Avenue between NE 3rd Street and NE 2nd Street
  • NE Kearney Avenue between NE 3rd Street and NE 2nd Street

Bend Bikeways Project, SE Area

The Bend Bikeway Project provides safer connections for pedestrians and bicycles traveling between neighborhoods, schools, places of work, parks and trails across town. Improvements will include a new shared use path with work primarily occurring as shoulder work, with intermittent single lane closures and flagging. Work begins June 24 – Fall 2026. Streets affected listed below:

  • SE 9th Street between SE WIlson Avenue and SE Reed Market Road
  • SE 15th Street between the Larkspur park and Bronzewood Ave
  • NE Bear Creek Road between NE Alpenview Lane and SE Craven Road

Intersection of Robal Road and Hunnel Road

Intersection of Robal Road and Hunnel Road for signal light replacements, 4-way flagging for the duration of the work, June 25 from 10 p.m. – 3 a.m.

Granite Drive

Granite Drive between Cinder Lane and Poplar Street will have street paving, alternating northbound and southbound lane closures with detour, June 22 – 30.

Powers Road

Powers Road between the Bend Parkway and Parrell Road will have franchise utility work, nighttime flagging, June 22 – 23, 6 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

American Lane

American Lane between Kira Drive and Brosterhous Road for paving, single lane closure with lane shift, June 22 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

NW Bond Street

NW Bond Street between NW Wall Street and NW Greenwood Avenue for work related to the Deschutes County Courthouse, single lane closure with lane shift, June 22, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Archie Briggs Road

Archie Briggs Road between NW Lower Village Road and Caddisfly Way for geotechnical testing, single lane closure with flagging, occurs June 22 – 25 from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

SE Wilson Avenue

SE Wilson Avenue between SE Centennial Street and SE 9th Street for railroad, street, and sidewalk infrastructure installation – Full road and sidewalk closure with detour is in place.

Safety Warning: The road and sidewalks are closed. The railroad crossing warning systems are out of service. This area is unsafe. Do NOT enter. Estimated closure from April 27th to Early July.

NE 18th Street

NE 18th Street at the intersection with the Yeoman Road extension will have roadway and pedestrian improvements, Northbound Lane closure with detour (southbound accessible), June 15 – July 30.

2026 Street Preservation

Slurry seal will be completed this week within streets in NW Bend. Various Streets across the City will have this work occurring with lane & street closures during its duration (expect delays). Beginning June 8th, asphalt restoration will start and go through July 17th. Work will begin as night work and transition to daytime hours.

  • NW Stannium Road between Sunset View Park and NW Milwaukee Avenue

NW Crossing Farmers Market (special event)

NW Crossing Farmers Market special event occurring every Saturday May 30 – September 26. Multiple road closures related to event (listed below).

  • NW Crossing Drive between Mount Washington Drive and NW Crossing Drive (Circle).
  • NW John Freemont between NW Ordiway Avenue and NW Fort Clatsop Street.
  • NW Fort Clatsop Street between NW Ordway Avenue and NW John Freemont Street.

Franklin Ave Improvements City Project

Franklin Ave Improvements City Project – This initial work is focused on replacing aging water pipes from 1st Street to 4th Street. See impacts below:

  • Beginning June 15th, work will transition to daytime work with lane reductions and flagging required to maintain traffic through the corridor, alternate routes should be taken to avoid delays.

Windsor Drive

Windsor Drive between Brosterhous Road and Woodside Court for a sewer main installation (part of City Septic to Sewer Program), full road closure with local access only, April 27 – End of August.

SW Colorado Avenue

SW Colorado Avenue between NW Bond Street and NW Staats Street for utility work, single lane closure with lane shift, April 20 – July 3, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

King Hezekiah and Fargo Sewer Project

King Hezekiah and Fargo Sewer Project – Various Road closures will be required for the installation of new sewer mains. Road closures listed below:

  • Fargo Lane between Perrigan Drive and Orion Drive, including intersection of Perrigan Drive and Fargo Lane, will be closed with local and emergency access only, June 22 – July 10
  • SE King Hezekiah Way between SE 15th Street and King Jehu, June 15 – End of October

NE Bear Creek Road

NE Bear Creek Road between NE Purcell Boulevard and Dean Swift Road will have infrastructure installations, full road closure with detour, June 8 – July 10.

Ponderosa Street

Ponderosa Street between SW Atwood Avenue and Granite Drive will have roadway construction, full road closure with detour, June 5 – July 28.

Magnolia Lane

Magnolia Lane between Hearthstone Lane and Ferguson Road will have infrastructure improvements, full road closure with local access only, Will last through August 15.

Butler Market Corridor Improvements

This project will construct a new single lane roundabout at the intersection of Butler Market and Wells Acres Road, and pedestrian and bicycle improvements on Butler Market between the 8th Street roundabout to Brinson Boulevard. Construction is well underway and is expected to be completed in fall of 2026. Roadway impacts listed below.

  • Note: Butler Market Road between NE Brinson Boulevard and NE 8th Street will have a westbound lane closure with detour.
  • Butler Market is open to eastbound traffic only between Broken Bow Drive and Brinson Boulevard.
  • Beginning May 11th, Wells Acres will be closed at the intersection with Butler Market until August. (Butler Market remains open to eastbound traffic.) Use Purcell Boulevard as an alternate route.
  • Shepard Road will have intermittent closures at the intersection with Wells Acres. Detour signage will direct traffic to NE Canyon Park Drive

NW Harriman Street

NW Harriman Street between NW Kearney Avenue and NW Greenwood Avenue for infrastructure work associated with the Deschutes County Courthouse, full road closure through June 26.

Olney Avenue

Olney Avenue between NW Steidl Road and NE 2nd Street, night work only, striping, June 22 from 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.


Future Road Closures

NE Olney Avenue

NE Olney Avenue at the intersection with NE 6th Street will have light pole installation, westbound lane closure with detour, July 6th – 7th from 7 p.m. – 6 a.m.

SE 15th Street

SE 15th Street between Bear Creek and Wilson Ave for a franchise utility work, single lane closures with flagging, July 8 from 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.

Fourth of July Pet Parade (special event)

Parade will have various road closures in and around downtown (listed below).

  • NW Wall Street between NW Newport Avenue and NW Franklin Ave
  • NW Riverside Boulevard between NW Wall Street and NW Galveston Avenue
  • NW Galveston Avenue between NW Tumalo Avenue and NW Harmon Boulevard
  • NW Harmon Boulevard between NW Galveston Avenue and NW Newport Avenue
  • NW Newport Avenue between NW Harmon Boulevard and NW Wall Street

Work schedules are dependent on weather conditions and other factors. Always exercise increased caution within construction zones. Drivers should use designated detour routes. Nearby residential streets are for local traffic only.

Any road closure not listed within this report, please submit a service request to notify the city of any potentially unpermitted work within City right of way. Please visit the Transportation and Mobility Department to submit.
