Join us for our City Council meetings, held in Council Chambers at City Hall in downtown Bend and broadcast live.

City Council Business Meetings occur on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 6 p.m., and the City Council Work Sessions occur on the second Wednesdays of each month from 4 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Attending a Council Meeting

We invite all community members to attend our City Council meetings. Your participation is important to us because it ensures that the voices representing the City of Bend are heard. By joining us, you contribute to shaping the future of our community and ensuring that diverse perspectives are considered in decision-making.

City Council meetings are held at the City of Bend Council Chambers in City Hall, located at 710 NW Wall Street in Downtown Bend, unless otherwise noted. You can join us in person or virtually. Virtual participation information is found on each agenda linked on this page.

  • Time: 4-6:30 p.m.

  • How to Join: Attend in person or virtually. Virtual participation information is found on the meeting agenda.
  • There is no opportunity for public comment during the Work Session.

When scheduled, executive sessions will typically occur prior to the start of a business meeting. This will be noted on the City of Bend Calendar and on the meeting’s agenda. Executive sessions are closed to the public, but media is permitted to attend with some exceptions.

Meetings are broadcast live on this webpage, Zoom and YouTube, and business meetings are broadcast live on COTV Channel 11. Links for the Zoom and YouTube broadcast are included on the meeting agenda, which is posted below under “Upcoming Council Meetings” a week prior to the meeting.

The community is invited to attend any public meeting; however, public comment (“visitor’s section”) does not occur at every public meeting. City Council business meetings will include a visitor’s section, which is a time for the public to give public comment. The work sessions do not include a time for public comment. Please check the meeting’s agenda to determine whether a visitor’s section will occur at the meeting.

  • To participate in person: Sign up prior to the meeting’s start time (6 p.m.) on sign-up sheets located just outside of Council Chambers. Sign-up sheets are available starting at 5:30 p.m.
  • To participate virtually: Sign up prior to the meeting’s start time (6 p.m.) using the zoom registration link at the top of the agenda.
  • Time Allotment: Each speaker is allotted 2 minutes, unless otherwise noted at the meeting.
  • Group Representation: If you are part of a large group, please designate one spokesperson to speak on behalf of the group.
  • Public Hearing: If you are testifying during a public hearing, you will be asked to speak during the public testimony portion of the public hearing.
  • Agenda Item: If you are speaking on a specific agenda item, you may be asked to give your comment at the time of that agenda item rather than during the Visitor’s Section.
  • This is a time for the Council to listen, not to engage in dialogue or answer questions.
  • No public comments can be made during work sessions or other special meetings

Additional meetings are gatherings dedicated to specific and important topics outside of regularly scheduled Council meetings, such as joint meetings with non-City agencies.
