Newport Corridor Improvements Project Update – julio 23, 2021

LA SEGURIDAD ES LO PRIMERO

Upcoming City of Bend road maintenance crews will be closing the Newport Ave Bridge for bridge resurfacing. Additional roadwork means less mobility through the construction site; any additional vehicle traffic could block those routes. Please follow all designated detour routes around the construction areas.

Newport Avenue Bridge over Deschutes River will be closed between NW Brooks Street and NW Awbrey Road; Detour to Portland Avenue.

KIOSCO DE INFORMACIÓN SOBRE LAS OBRAS

On Martes, julio 27, the City’s informational kiosk in front of the Newport Market will be open from noon to 1:30 PM. You’re invited to stop by and meet with our team for any questions regarding this project. 

ACTUALIZACIÓN SOBRE LAS OBRAS 

Nashville Ave is in its homestretch; new curbs will be formed over the upcoming weeks, and asphalt is planned to be laid at the beginning of Agosto. We are excited to announce that Nashville Ave will be fully open for traffic in mid-Agosto 2021.

Construction on the Newport Corridor Improvements Project is moving along. Work will begin on a new segment of the project on Lunes, julio 26. Segment 5 is the area on Newport Avenue from Juniper Street to College Way. Initial traffic control devices will be in place, allowing for two-way traffic. As construction progresses, this segment will become a single westbound lane allowing for business access. Visit https://www.bendoregon.gov/newportimprovements to view the updated detour map.

Over the next week, trees that are designated to be removed due to conflicts with the improvements will be marked with a pink dot on the tree. The ‘Tree Preservation and Removal Overview Exhibits’ can be found on the project website. These exhibits provide design details about each tree being removed and where new trees will be planted.

  • Pouring of curbs continues along Nashville Ave.
  • Concrete is being poured into sidewalks and ADA ramps.
  • Stormwater planters near the 9th Street roundabout are formed and ready to be poured.

  • New natural gas lines are being installed on the south side of Newport Ave.

  • Avenida Nashville, desde la avenida Newport hasta Pageant Park
  • Newport Ave. from NW 7th Street to NW 10th Street

NOTAS GENERALES DEL PROYECTO

  • Se mantendrá el acceso a todos los comercios de la zona a lo largo del corredor de obras. Se siguen instalando nuevos carteles que indican que los comercios están abiertos.
  • Se puede acceder a los comercios situados entre la calle9 y la calle11 a través del callejón trasero y las zonas de aparcamiento traseras.
  • Por favor, no entre en la zona de obras antes, durante ni después del horario de trabajo.
  • El horario laboral diurno es de 7:00 a. m. a 5:30 p. m.
  • Hay muchas obras en la zona y en toda la ciudad de Bend. Conduzca con precaución.
