Newport Corridor Improvements Project Update – julio 30, 2021

LA SEGURIDAD ES LO PRIMERO

Traffic control will be established along Newport Avenue from College Way to 6th Street in coordination with construction of segments 1 and 5. Please review the detour map below for the upcoming changes and allow additional time for your drive in this area.

KIOSCO DE INFORMACIÓN SOBRE LAS OBRAS

The City’s informational kiosk will be open on Martes, Agosto 3, from 12:00 PM-1:30 PM. You are invited to stop by and meet with our team to answer any questions regarding this project.

ACTUALIZACIÓN SOBRE LAS OBRAS

Segmento 1

  • Nashville Avenue is in its homestretch; new sidewalks and ADA ramps will be formed and poured over the upcoming weeks, and asphalt is planned to be laid at the beginning of Agosto.
  • The 9th Street and Newport Avenue roundabout is scheduled to be paved at the end of Agosto and is scheduled to open in early Septiembre.

Segment 5

  •  After planning and coordinating with Cascade Natural Gas Company, the construction on Newport Avenue, between Juniper Street and College Way, is starting Agosto 2.

Segment 5 Proposed Design Exhibit

Segment 5 construction includes replacement of Sewer, Water, and stormwater systems. In addition to the new stormwater planters, new sidewalks, ADA ramps, and walk buffers will be built on the north and south sides of Newport Ave.

Week of julio 29–Agosto 5 

  • Sidewalks and ADA ramps along Nashville Avenue continue to be poured.
  • Irrigation systems for the new right of way green space are installed in preparation for new grass and trees.
  • Stormwater planters along the 9th Street roundabout continue to be built
  • Crews are prepping subgrade for the new concrete curbs.

Week of Agosto 2– Agosto 5

  • Traffic Control devices will be installed, establishing westbound local access only traffic flow.
  • The old curbs and sidewalks along the south side of Newport Avenue will be removed.
  • Cascade Natural Gas will begin relocating their new gas main.

Cortes y cambios en el tráfico

  • Nashville Avenue from Newport Avenue to Pageant Park is closed.
  • La avenida Newport, desde la calle NW7 hasta la calle NW10, está cortada al tráfico.
  • Intersection at NW Juniper Street and Newport Avenue will be closed.
  • Intersection at NW Knoxville Blvd. and Newport Avenue will be closed.

All businesses along Newport Avenue will be open through construction. Business access signs will be placed on the following routes:

  • NW Portland Avenue
  • NW 14th Street
  • Avenida NW Newport

NOTAS GENERALES DEL PROYECTO

  • Se mantendrá el acceso a todos los comercios de la zona a lo largo del corredor de obras. Se siguen instalando nuevos carteles que indican que los comercios están abiertos.
  • Se puede acceder a los comercios situados entre la calle9 y la calle11 a través del callejón trasero y las zonas de aparcamiento traseras.
  • Por favor, no entre en la zona de obras antes, durante ni después del horario de trabajo.
  • Daytime work hours are in effect from 7:00 AM–6:30 PM.
  • Los «planos informativos sobre la conservación y la tala de árboles» se pueden consultar en la página web del proyecto. Estos planos ofrecen detalles sobre el diseño de cada árbol que se va a talar y sobre los lugares donde se plantarán los nuevos árboles.
  • Hay muchas obras en la zona y en toda la ciudad de Bend. Conduzca con precaución.
