Roundabouts… as easy as 1, 2, 3

As we prepare for the opening of Bend’s newest roundabout in mid-Mayo at the intersection of Wilson Avenue and 15^th Street, here are some tips for safely navigating roundabouts:

1. Slow down 
2. Look around
3. Be ready to yield

Reminder – if you see or hear an emergency vehicle approaching while in a roundabout, proceed to your exit and then pull over to let it pass.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE FOR THE WEEK OF MAY 1 – MAY 5

• Final work is underway on the 15^th Street and Wilson Street roundabout with an anticipated opening in Mid-Mayo. 
• Paving preparation work will take place this week in advance of paving next week. 
• Paving work is being coordinated with the larger project to pave 15^th Street. Paving will be complete by the time the roundabout is opened. 
• Las obras de riego y paisajismo continuarán durante las próximas semanas.

Thank you to everyone who attended the informational meeting at Larkspur Community Center on Abril 26. During the meeting, the project team shared plans for the third and final phase of the project. The final phase will be constructed in three stages beginning in mid-Mayo, with Stage 1 between 4^th Street and Centennial Street.

Stage One Construction: 

Modernization of Wilson Avenue from 4^th Street through Centennial Street will begin in Mid-Mayo.

15th Street Intersection Closure – Febrero 20 – Mid-Mayo 2023 (weather permitting)
