Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program

The Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP) includes transportation projects expected over the next four years within the BMPO area.

 

MTIP

The BMPO MTIP is a listing of transportation projects expected to be delivered within the BMPO over a four-year period. The BMPO develops a new MTIP every three years, with each MTIP overlapping by one year. This overlap is due to the practice of listing tentative information in the final year of one MTIP then providing confirmed plans for that same year in the subsequent MTIP.

2027-2030 MTIP

The 2027-2030 MTIP was adopted by the BMPO Policy Board in Abril 2026. It will be considered for approval at the state and federal levels in Agosto and Septiembre of 2026 (respectively). The 2027-2030 MTIP spans the period of Octubre 1, 2027, through Septiembre 30, 2030, overlapping the 2024-2027 MTIP by one year.

2024-2027 MTIP

The 2024-2027 MTIP was adopted by the BMPO Policy Board in Mayo 2023. It is amended as needed. Changes may involve amending approved projects (details such as cost, scope, or location) or adding/deleting projects from the program. The 2024-2027 MTIP spans the period of Octubre 1, 2024, through Septiembre 30, 2027.

Annual Obligation Report

An annual obligation report is a listing of the transportation projects for which federal funding was obligated within a federal fiscal year. MPOs are federally required to develop this report each year. The purpose of the report is to increase transparency and public understanding of how federal funds are spent on transportation projects.
